Elisa Collado Fregoso Perfil

Elisa Collado Fregoso was born in Mexico City. She obtained her B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) where she was awarded with the Gabino Barreda Medal for the best student of theChemistry 2002 class. She obtained her PhD at Imperial College London in 2015 under the supervision of Prof. James R. Durrant, co-funded by CONACyT and Imperial College via the Kernahan Fund. Elisa has co-authored 13 peer-reviewed papers in areas including Organic Photovoltaics and Ultrafast Spectroscopy, and is currently working as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at Durrant’s group in optical characterization of organic solar cells (OSC).

Elisa’s research has been focused in assessing the impact of OSC’s active layer morphology, as characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM)and atomic force microscopy (AFM) upon the kinetics of charge separation and recombination, obtained using femto- to milli-second transient absorption spectroscopy. Elisa is interested in (1) the effect of applied bias upon charge separation and recombination, (2) the research on new non-fullerene acceptors for bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells, (3) the research on improving the stability of polymer solar cells and (4) cheap fabrication and technology transfer to the solar cell industry in Mexico.
